I have download ShyFile and it doesn't install properly.

1. Does your system already have the Microsoft .NET Framework installed? Some systems might fail to install ShyFile if the Framework is already there. To check whether the Microsoft .NET Framework is already installed on your system, go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and look for the Microsoft .NET Framework in the list of programs. If you find it, un-install it from your system. Don't worry about losing it, you will get a new one when installing ShyFile.

2. Does your system already have a previous version of ShyFile installed? To check that, go to Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and look for ShyFile in the list of programs. If you find it, un-install it from your system.

3. Some Internet browsers fail to download a file completely without actually reporting an error. Have you encountered any problems during the download of ShyFile? Compare the size of the setup file on your hard drive to what is stated on our download page (in parenthesis right next to the download button).

4. Have you made use of a download accelerator when downloading ShyFile? If so, turn it off and download ShyFile again.

5. Make sure your operating system is up-to-date. Check whether all service packs / critical updates available at Microsoft are installed on your PC. To do this, select Start > Windows Update. If your PC lacks plenty of updates you probably will need to go through this updating process several times. Keep going through this updating-process until the Microsoft Windows Update page no longer reports any critical updates missing.

6. Before installing ShyFile, make sure all other applications (that might be running in the foreground as well as hidden in the background) are turned off, first and foremost your virus shield (if any), your Real Player (?), Windows Media Player (?), ICQ (?), or a quick launch of Netscape (?) - whatever applications you have running, turn off as many of them as possibe. Take a look at the lower task bar what icons are left next to the clock on the right side. Make sure there are as few icons as possible left remaining.

If all of the aforementioned aspects have been respected try to install ShyFile anew.
